Ardo signs commitment letter to the Science Based Target initiative

Limit climate impact

Recognizing the need to limit Ardo's climate impact and minimize our carbon footprint throughout the value chain, we have decided to align our environmental objectives with the latest climate science. 

This commitment to climate mitigation has been formalized through the signing of the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) commitment letter. Specifically for our scope 1 and 2 emissions, we are following a trajectory aimed at limiting global warming to 1.5°C. For our scope 3 emissions, we are following a trajectory well below 2°C. As part of our SBTi roadmap, we will differentiate between FLAG (forest, land, agriculture) and non-FLAG emissions. We are currently developing our science-based reduction targets, which will be presented within the next 24 months, subject to SBTi approval. 

The Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) is a non-profit and multi-stakeholder climate initiative led by CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute, and the World Wildlife Fund. It provides a comprehensive methodology for companies to establish carbon reduction targets that are in line with the scientific imperatives outlined in the Paris Agreement.
