Autumn crops on schedule

Vegetables in the North

A few welcome rain showers in October brought relief to the northern regions after a long period of dry weather. This allowed the harvest to continue under good conditions and helped most crops reach a solid level of quality.

The harvest of autumn and winter crops is looking very promising.

  • The bean season has ended with strong results.
  • The autumn spinach harvest is complete with fairly normal yields, except in some regions of France and for organic spinach.
  • The cauliflower harvest is almost finished.
  • Harvests still underway include carrots, leeks, Brussels sprouts, salsify, pumpkin, celeriac and more.

Rainfall, and even snow, continued into November and is already affecting some harvests due to reduced accessibility to the fields.

Vegetables in the South

The situation in the south is generally positive, although some broccoli has been lost due to disease (Alternaria) triggered by the warm and wet weather in October.

Herbs

Several significant rain showers in Brittany (FR) have affected some dill and coriander fields and delayed the thyme harvest.

Outlook

We are on track to meet the production programme for the 2025 harvest, although some winter crops still need to be completed. Persistent forecasts of rain and snow for November are already impacting harvesting conditions in certain regions. This makes it too early to have a clear view of the overall outcome of the 2025 growing season.

We continue to minimise risks during growth and harvest and will provide regular updates as the season progresses.
