Crunchy puff pastry with spicy apple and sweet biscuits

Ingredients

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 250g Ardo apple slices
  • 6 circles of puff pastry, diameter 10 cm
  • 50g melted salted butter
  • 50g unrefined sugar
  • 100g crème patissière (thick sweet custard)
  • 1 egg
  • cinnamon spice

Preparation

  1. Cut the 6 circles up to 1 cm from the edge. Brush the edges with the lightly beaten egg.
  2. Place a dollop of crème patissière in the centre and sprinkle with ground cinnamon. Arrange the frozen apple slices.
  3. Brush each tart with melted butter and sprinkle liberally with sugar.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes in the oven at 220°C.
  5. Sprinkle with sugar again, then bake again until the tarts are a beautiful golden brown.
  6. Serving suggestion: Decorate the edge with liquid caramel and serve with a portion of vanille ice cream.
