Scope

Our organization is growing fast, which means that the software landscape is in full evolution.

As a System/Network Engineer, you oversee the complete IT infrastructure of Ardo. You install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools. You are responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of the organization to ensure maximum uptime for users Together with the IT team (7 colleagues), you ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability. You evaluate the existing systems and provide the technical direction to the IT support staff.

Your role in the team:

• You are responsible for the management and optimization of the server environment (Microsoft, VMWare), network, security, storage, cloud solutions, and telephony.
• Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
• Your focus will mainly be to work on a project basis. You are responsible for analysis, design, implementation, documentation, for new installations, upgrades, and migrations. There are various projects on the IT roadmap to further realize the new infrastructure environment.
• You take on a pioneering role in concretizing and translating the vision on infrastructure together with the Infrastructure Manager into operational functioning.
• You work out business cases, including budget exercises.
• You make technological choices, take decisions in consultation, and work out these infrastructure projects from A to Z. You can call on external parties when needed.
• In addition to project-based work, you are also responsible to a lesser extent for third-line support tasks.
• You also participate in standby duty, together with your team members.

Your Talent 

• You hold a degree/certificate in IT and have at least 3 years of relevant experience as a System Engineer.
• You have a broad background in the field of IT infrastructure: server management, virtualization, storage, network management, security, cloud solutions.
• Experience in a production context and multi-site environment is an extra plus.
• You have experience with project-based work from scope determination to delivery.
• You are eager to learn, a strong communicator, and you like taking initiative.
• You have a structured way of working with an analytical mind.
• You are also a team player with a getting-things-done mentality that focuses on qualitative solutions.
• You manage your projects proactively and with a focus on results.
• You can reason conceptually analytically, but you also have the desire to be hands-on yourself.
• You have a profound knowledge of English and can express yourself in both Dutch and French - other languages are a plus.
• You are willing to make trips to nearby sites if necessary.
