The scope of the Group Safety Manager is to promote a culture of safety within our organization and to ensure that employees and contractors can work in a safe and healthy environment. In this role, you report directly to the COO. You work in close collaboration with the Continuous improvement organization. Your liaison partners are the Health & Safety Managers from Ardo’s international local sites.  The accountability of this position is to improve and further develop and coordinate the group Health & Safety policy, for the field and factory with a clear focus on behavior. This means:

  • Ensuring that the organization operates in a safe and compliant manner by identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, implementing measures to mitigate them, and creating and establishing policies and procedures for prevention.
  • Providing safety training, workshops, and toolboxes to support the local Health & Safety managers Sharing best practices and knowledge is key, combined with a comprehensive communication plan. 
  • Reporting on safety metrics and KPIs with the help of a safety performance dashboard. Creating efficiency and transparency by introducing a safety management system. This includes maintaining safety records, accident reports, safety audits, and employee training records.
  • Supporting local H&S managers in safety inspections and audits, impacting behavior, implementing safety programs, and sharing best practices between sites.
  • Optimizing the technical safety of all equipment, installations & operational areas (production, packing, logistics, agronomic…). Hereby working closely with the Engineering department.
  • Supporting and driving well-being programs in close collaboration with other business stakeholders and teams. 
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations by staying up to date to ensure that the organization is following all applicable laws and regulations, national and international.
  • In your skillset, we will find a combination of education, experience, and skills to effectively manage safety programs and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • You are preferably a Master of Business, Science, or Engineering. You are a holder of Prevention advisor level 1 (mandatory). 
  • You have at least 5 years of work experience in a similar position, preferably in an industrial environment, the process industry, or FMCG.
  • You are a field-oriented candidate with high integrity and a dynamic and solution-oriented attitude.
  • You are an excellent and effective communicator to all levels of the organization, from employees, and contractors to management and leadership team.  You built your network with external parties and important H&S stakeholders. 
  • You possess strong analytical skills and use data for identifying trends which you use to develop and adapt the safety strategy.
  • You can express yourself fluently in English and Dutch, any additional language is a plus. 
  • You are open to frequent traveling (short trips) within the EU to the different production sites and Ardo locations.
