
The Food Labelling Specialist will play a vital role in supporting the execution of our nutritional, ingredient, and allergen labelling compliance on labels and artwork development for sales within the Americas. The Food Labelling Specialist will work closely with the company’s commercial & marketing team engaging in various activities such as conducting ingredient reviews, performing product assessments, and ensuring accurate entry of declarations into our internal system (ERP & Genesis). The role will also assist in tracking compliance data and in providing labelling guidance on specific topics as needed.
The Food Labelling Specialist will also actively approve existing and new vendors’ food safety systems in verifying and validating core food safety documents.
Job Description
§ Manage ingredient, allergen, & nutritional labelling for private label projects of retail corporations, branded retail projects, & industrial and food service projects.
§ Review Kosher & Organic Labelling. Maintain Private label kosher certification database.
§ Proactively communicate traceability (lot code & date) inkjet formats in accordance with importing country requirements.
§ Address labelling projects by upcoming priorities as indicated on internal ERP dashboards and proactively update notes/status at item level.
§ Maintain organized record keeping for all labelling projects in accordance with established SOPs.
§ Proceed to ongoing troubleshooting and manage exceptions.
§ Provide smooth communication channels between ArdoVLM, its customers and suppliers.
§ Update existing SOPs for Ingredient, Allergen, & Nutritional Labelling with newly developed efficiencies.
§ Private Retail Brands: Follow projects A to Z to optimize internal efficiencies. Update and maintain customers’ platforms with ingredient, allergen, & nutritional labelling data in a timely manner.
§ Collaborate with Food Safety, Regulatory, Commercial and Marketing throughout the artwork/label development process.
§ Request labelling-related QA documents (certificates, specs, recipe breakdowns, affidavits, etc.) for artwork and NPD projects.
§ Act as a Liaison between ArdoVLM and External labelling consultants + labs on labelling compliance matters.
§ Keep up to date with & help Senior Food Safety Leads assess the impact on ArdoVLM’s internal policies from updates in the regulatory landscape of Ingredient, Allergen, and Nutritional Labelling.
§ Other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Education and Work Experience
§ Graduate degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or related academic fields.
§ 5+ years of experience in the food industry with a specialty in food and packaging labelling requirements, nutritional values, and preparation of ingredient statements.
§ Full knowledge and understanding of USA (FDA) and Canadian labelling regulations. Certification of proficiency in USA FDA & Canadian labelling requested.
§ Experience managing PLM systems for retail corporations (private label account - product lifecycle management system)
§ Knowledge of Latin America’s labelling regulations is an asset.
§ Additional experience in Research and Development roles in a food manufacturing environment is an asset.
§ Experience in the CPG or Canadian/USA retail food industry is an asset.
